REILLY Craft Pizza and Drink
We’ll start off this restaurant tour with our downstairs neighbor, REILLY Craft Pizza and Drink! In addition to offering unique artisan pizzas, REILLY also provides a great selection of appetizers—we recommend the truffle fries and the Brussels sprouts. Cafe Poca Cosa
We can’t recommend any specific dishes at Cafe Poca Cosa… because the menu changes twice every day! No matter what dishes are being served when you visit, you’re guaranteed to get a taste of fresh and authentic Mexican cuisine. If you simply can’t choose, consider getting our team’s most-ordered option: the Plato Poca Cosa. This dish features portions of three different entrees—these are always a surprise, and the best part is that no two people at your table will end up with the same combination! Cafe Poca Cosa also offers a variety of delicious margaritas that can be ordered by the pitcher, as well as a menu of exquisite desserts.
Cup Cafe
The Hotel Congress is one of the landmarks of downtown Tucson, and features a wonderful hidden gem inside: Cup Cafe. We recommend visiting at lunchtime, when you can order from both the breakfast and lunch menus. Some favorites of the Pennington Creative team include the cast iron baked eggs, the chickpea lettuce wraps, and the depot salad. Don’t forget to check out the unique cocktail menu, and if you happen to visit Cup Cafe for brunch on the weekend, be sure to take advantage of the Bloody Mary Bar.
Penca
This little restaurant is easy to miss when you’re walking by, but should definitely be on your list of must-visits in downtown Tucson. The menu at Penca is full of traditional Mexican dishes that pack a powerful punch of flavor. If you are looking for a small bite, consider getting one or two tacos—you can choose from unique options like potato, prickly pear cactus, and braised turkey. For something a little more filling, we recommend ordering a torta or a tazon.
Baggin’s Gourmet Sandwiches
If you are looking for a great delivery option for lunch, you can’t go wrong with Baggin’s. This Tucson institution offers hearty sandwiches and filling bread bowl salads that are sure to please the palates of everyone in your party. The best part?
